The Chimney by Ron Morin

HELENE, unperturbed: The whole point of life, David, is to go beyond the limits of material reality. If we lose the ability to dream - nothing is sadder. All my life I've prayed - hoping for some transformation, some golden moment when I was only myself, with nothing to hide, a pure vessel in right relationship to God - authentic. I still pray for that moment. Can you imagine, David, what it must feel like to be yourself, utterly and totally, without a shred of guilt? That's how people come to walk on water.
